- 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts optional
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a microwave-safe bowl or on the stovetop, melt the butter until it’s completely liquid.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter with sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using) into the batter, distributing them evenly.
