Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl or on the stovetop, melt the butter until it's completely liquid.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter with sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  • Sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using) into the batter, distributing them evenly.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
  • Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 1 hour. Once cooled, cut into squares or rectangles.
  • Serve the brownies on their own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
